Summary: Encyclopedia «Shevchenko Scientific Society» is the first multi-volume publication about the oldest scientific public society in Ukraine. This is a «book of knowledge» that represents a holistic and multidimensional image of the institution: its purpose and tasks, structure, main publications, personalities, as well as institutions that worked at the National Academy of Sciences during 1873—2022 years. Regional Shevchenko Scientific Society and their branches operating in Ukraine and abroad appear separately in the Encyclopedia. The encyclopedia covers the history of all areas of the institution's life and its contacts with various national and foreign scientific institutions and educational institutions. In terms of its content, the proposed edition is a significant addition to scientific knowledge about Ukraine. The fifth volume contains 225 entries.
