Summary: The monograph is devoted to the history of the development of mineralogical research and knowledge in independent Ukraine (since 1991). The main achievements of Ukrainian scientists in various branches of this fundamental discipline from the cycle of Earth sciences — regional, systematic and genetic mineralogy, crystal chemistry and physics of minerals, mineralogical crystallography, bio- and nano-mineralogy, experimental, space and applied mineralogy, museum work are considered. The activities of four world-renowned scientific schools are highlighted: regional mineralogical academician E. Lazarenko, thermobarogeochemical professor M. Yermakov, crystal chemical academician O. Povarennykh, mineral physics professors I. Matyash, O. Platonov, and A. Taraschan. How to develop mineralogy in the conditions of a war with an external aggressor is answered in a special section — ways of development and fate of Ukrainian mineralogy in crisis conditions.
