Summary: The monograph examines the of welding of pseudo-β titanium alloys using TIG and electron beam welding methods. The influence of the welding thermal cycle on the phase composition of the weld metal and the heat affected zone were determined using mathematical modeling methods based on TIG-welding of high-strength titanium alloy VT19. A diagram of anisotropic transformations during cooling of a pseudo-β titanium alloy was constructed, and the dependence of the residual amount of the β-phase on the cooling rate was determined by the calculation-experimental method. The technology of TIG welding with filler wire or oxygen-free fluxes and the technology of EBW with preheating and local heat treatment have been developed. The dependence of the VT19 alloy joints strength made by EBW on the amount of β-phase in the weld metal was established. The results of studies of the influence of various types of furnace heat treatment of welded joints of alloy VT19 on their structural-phase composition and mechanical characteristics are given. The application of the specified welding technologies will contribute to the wider use of welded structures from pseudo-β titanium alloys in power and chemical engineering, as well as in the aerospace industry.
