Surface after diamond abrasive processing: roughness, films, change of elemental composition
Type of periodical: Monographies
Publication types: Printed edition
Section: Materials science
Publication date: 2024
Authors: V.I. Lavrinenko
Summary: The monograph provides basic information about the features of the formation of the treated surface in the processes of diamond-abrasive treatment, taking into account the microprofile of the surface layer, the formation of native or forcibly formed films on it, and the features of the change in the elemental composition of the treated surface during treatment are considered. Recommendations for the directed formation of the necessary surface in the conditions of diamond-abrasive processing of instrumental and composite materials in mechanical engineering are given. The features of the relationship between the roughness indicators of the treated surface: Ra, Rmax, Sm, tp are considered, and it is also shown how the fullness of the profile of the rough surface can be purposefully changed during diamond-abrasive processing. The influence of the shaping processes of the cutting surface of the grinding wheel during the processing on the roughness of the processed surface is analyzed. The effect of the combination of different abrasives in the working layer of the wheel and the features of the improvement of diamond abrasive powders on the roughness of the treated surface is shown. Recommendations are given for the directed formation of a special microprofile of the processed surface with “oil pockets”.
Reading audience: For scientific and engineering workers working in the field of using diamond-abrasive tools for processing instrumental and composite materials in mechanical engineering, as well as for teachers, graduate students and students of higher educational institutions.
