Summary: The course deals with distributions (which are also called generalised functions), Fourier transform for various types of distributions (including regular ones), and their applications to solving various problems for partial differential equations, in particular, some problems of control theory. It is considered a series of spaces, which are spaces of Sobolev type and subspaces of the Schwartz space of tempered distributions, Fourier transform, and their application.

Reading audience: This text book contains the materials of the course «Fourier Transform and Its Applications», which has been given by the author for master students of the speciality «Applied Mathematics» at V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University during several years. It may be used by graduate and postgraduate students of mathematical and physical faculties of universities along with scientists who use the Fourier transform in the spaces of distributions (including regular ones) and consider differential equations in these spaces.
