Summary: The monograph examines scientific and applied aspects of growing single crystals of refractory metals using plasma and induction heating sources. The most common methods of obtaining and equipment for growing are presented. The advantages of combined plasma-induction heating in the technique of growing large single crystals of refractory metals, in particular tungsten and molybdenum, are shown. A mathematical model of the thermal state of round and flat single crystals during plasma-induction heating is considered.
