Summary: The book presents the results of sociological observations of changes, which have occurred in. Ukrainian society and its subsystems as a result of the Russian Federation’s aggression. Seven chapters of the book consider global and local aspects of the war, transformations in the structure of institutions and social groups, shifts in moods, attitudes, expectations and value orientations of Ukrainian citizens, as well as changes in social and psychological state of the population. The empirical basis comprises data from annual nationwide surveys carried out by the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine before 2022, findings from some crossnational comparative studies, surveys initiated on social media, interviews conducted by research fellows of the Institute of Sociology, as well as data collected by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) and the «Rating» sociological group.

Reading audience: The book should be of interest to social sciences and humanities experts, who study the mentioned aspects of people’s coexistence in extreme conditions of life, work and everyday communication, to those teaching social sciences at higher education institutions, as well as to students majoring in sociology (054) and postgraduates specialising in this field.
