Summary: The monograph is dedicated to the problem of prediction of residual longevity of hydrogenous metal materials at the stage of propagation of fatigue cracks. Physical aspects of the phenomenon of hydrogen degradation and fatigue cracking of metals, influence of hydrogenous medium on nucleation and propagation of fatigue cracks, principles of using the methods of nondestructive control, the acoustic emission in particular have been considered to estimate the defectiveness of structural materials. A number of computation models have been proposed for estimating the periods of nucleation and precritical propagation of fatigue macrocracks in hydrogenous metal materials nonhomogeneous as to their mechanical properties.
