Summary: The monograph is devoted to the problem of corrosion cracking of pipe steels of main gas pipelines. The results of large-scale research have been determined and the methodology of investigations and evaluation in laboratory tests of the susceptibility of pipe steel (as in the case of ХТО steel) to corrosion cracking under the cathodic protection was lighted up. The mechanism of corrosion cracking was analyzed according to the polarization potential. Recommendations for complex anti-corrosion protection of the linear pan of mam gas pipelines on potentially corrosion-hazardous areas are given. These results were implemented during the development of the main provisions of such normative documents SOU 60.3-30019801-070, DSTU N В A.3.1-29. changes No. 1 to DSTU 4219.
