Summary: The latest advances in the use of renewable energy sources (solar and wind), chemical processes, biomaterials for the efficient production of hydrogen, its storage and use in the fuel cells powered energy supply systems are presented. New important results were obtained within two research programs, namely, the NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme Project G5233 «Portable Energy Supply» (2017—2021) and the priority program of the NAS of Ukraine «Development of scientific principles of the production, storage and use of hydrogen in autonomous energy supply systems» (2019—2021).
