Summary: The authors of this publication examine modern methods for identifying various objects based on the study of stochastic noise signals, which serve as an informational resource for the functioning of such objects. The focus is on mathematical models of the investigated signals and their probabilistic characteristics as potential informational features for object identification. The study also explores the envelope and phase method for determining phase characteristics of identification, along with examples utilizing experimental data from vibroacoustic signals of bearing units in electrical machines, human electroencephalographic signals, and phase characteristics of narrowband noise signals.
