Summary: The present book deals with the National Symposium of Monumental Ceramics Giants of Independent Ukraine — a unique artistic event in Ukraine in 2021, designed to glorify the means of artistic ceramics defining date in the development of Conciliar Ukraine — the 30th anniversary of the proclamation of independence. Leading Ukrainian ceramists — Inna Gurzhiy (Poltava), Andriy Ilyinsky (Kyiv), Iryna Norets (Kyiv), Tetyana Pavlyshyn-Svyatun (Lviv), Lesya Padun (Polonne), Oleksandr Serdyuk (Kharkiv), Ivan Fizer (Cherkasy) — made 7 giant (over 5 m) clay works, which raise the national clay thinking to an essentially new level of artistic understanding of the native State Creating. The sculptures launched a series of thematic locations of the National Monumental Clay Sculpture Gallery, which is the largest one in Europe. The fundamental scientific album and catalogue contains articles by famous Ukrainian art critics on the artistic pursuits and achievements of giant sculptures, information on symposium participants, catalogue, annotations of works, photo review of events, press bibliography and other materials important for understanding a unique artistic phenomenon. The project was implemented with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation. This publication carries on academical ceramological series The Pottery Ukraine, which familiarizes readers with work of participants in national and international ceramics exhibitions, competitions, symposia.
