Summary: The monograph is dedicated to a comprehensive study of the institutional capacity of state authorities and local self-government in Ukraine. The work analyzes the quality of state institutions and entities that collectively constitute the institutional capacity of the state. This is achieved through the application of various indices and indicators, legislative analysis, sociological survey data, and statistical information on socio-economic processes. The monograph evaluates the effectiveness of the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of power, as well as the political aspects of regulating competitive relations in Ukraine. It also examines the challenges and successes of the decentralization reform and its impact on the capacity of territorial communities, enhancing the institutional capacity of state authorities and local self-government in Ukraine.
