Summary: Goethe’s views on anatomy and evolution greatly influenced Leonid’s book, which we are preparing for publication. The book describes what each of us has—a skeleton. The pages unfold a holistic history of transformations, as a result of which a skeleton is formed from the prototypes of bones. An evolutionary path — from fish to humans — has been traced for each bone. The bones that are rare in some people, the Inca bone and the central bone of the wrist, are no exception. In his book, Leonid also describes what caused the evolutionary transformations, what advantages and limitations the skeleton gives to different animals.
