Summary: The monograph contains a description and study of Late Scythian hillforts and burial grounds of the Lower Dnieper basin of the 2nd century BC — 4th century AD, located along the right (12 hillforts and 3 burial grounds) and left (5 hillforts, separate burials) banks of the former Kakhovka reservoir. The text includes a description of the environment of the living time of hillforts; the history of the study of sites with the author’s version of the origin of the Late Scythian culture of the region; a catalog with a full description and bibliography of each site; and a final chapter with a general characteristics of the Late Scythian culture of the Lower Dnieper. The description of each site is accompanied by a map of the location, all existing plans and schemes of the site, satellite images, archival and modern photographs, many of which are published for the first time, and images of archaeological objects. The book was prepared within the framework of the scholarship program «Documenting, Recording and Saving Ukrainian Archaeological Heritage», provided by the German Archaeological Institute (Deutsches Archäologisches Institut, Berlin, Deutschland).
