Summary: This monograph analyzes and summarizes recent findings, including the authors’ own research, on the role of endogenous and exogenous phytohormones, photosynthetic pigments, free amino acids, phenolic compounds, flavonoids, lipoxygenase-family molecules, and ultrastructural modifications in the development of stress resistance in cereal plants. It presents a modern perspective on the molecular mechanisms regulating seed germination, growth, and development, discusses the nature of hormonal interactions, and provides examples of the protective effects of seed priming and foliar treatments with exogenous hormones and amino acid formulations under various abiotic stress conditions.
