Summary: The monograph summarises the results of field engineering-geological, topographic-geodezic, hydrological, ecological-hydrobiological, sanitary-hygienic and hydrochemical studies of the Shchyrets Reservoir. The peculiarities of the natural conditions of the study area are considered, with special attention to the study of the hydrological conditions of the Shchyrka River catchment. The hydrochemical and sanitary-hygienic state of the Shchyrets Reservoir is analysed. The sources of pollution are identified and the current hydroecological state of the reservoir and its adjacent territory is assessed. The diversity and structure of invertebrate hydrobiont communities, water and air-water mactophytes were studied. The degree of anthropogenic pressure on the reservoir and its surroundings was assessed. Proposals and recommendations for priority measures to eliminate and reduce the negative impact on the reservoir in terms of recreational use are substantiated
