Summary: The monograph is devoted to the use of asymptotic solutions of scattering problems for modeling media (materials) with given acoustic and electromagnetic characteristics. It is established that on the basis of constructed asymptotic solutions it is possible to obtain explicit formulas for the refraction factor in the case of acoustic scattering and for the coefficient of refraction and electrical and magnetic permeability in the case of electromagnetic scattering. The results of numerical modeling are given, which confirm analytical conclusions.
