Summary: The collective monograph summaries almost twenty years of experience of the Thermal Energy Technology Institute of the National Academy of Science of Ukraine in theoretical and practical research on the joint thermal processing of two solid fuels. The research has been applied in boiler furnaces of various capacities, using various technologies, from pulverized coal combustion to bed combustion. The research is unique due to the wide range of fuels involved — coal of all grades and different countries of origin, biomass, petroleum coke, coal preparation waste, etc. Such research has contributed to expanding the energy sector’s fuel base with local fuels, industrial and agricultural waste, reducing harmful emissions, creating distributed generation, and thus, to Ukraine’s energy independence.
