Summary: The land management component of socio-behavioral sciences has been studied, in particu lar, the place and role of land management in the development of life activities of Ukrainian society and economic science, the main concepts and essential features of the land management system, the evolution of the essence of the theory of land management, the essence of land management in socio-economic and ecological spaces. The foundations of institutional and behavioral economic theories, the trend of institutional and behavioral economic theories in land management, the scientific hypothesis of the interpretation of land management as a socio-economic institution and the application of institutional and behavioral theory in solving the problems of land management development are outlined. The essence of the institutionalization of the land management system, the philosophy of the institutionalization of the land management system, the theory in the dialectic of land management activity, the institutional-behavioral paradigm of the development of land management are revealed. The peculiarities of the latest institutional-behavioral theory of land management are studied, in particular: institutional systematization and enrichment of land management functions, definition of the boundaries of the subject of land management, institutional model of enrichment of land management objects, institutional-behavioral trend of modeling the development of land management, transaction costs as an indicator of the effectiveness of the level of institutionalization of land management. The institutional environment of the development of professional land managers was studied, in particular; modeling the development of the institute of professional land managers, the institute of professional land managers of Ukraine, the development of the «land management» profession on the basis of engineering and imperialist approaches.
