Summary: The first book of the author «The art of Ukrainian Embroidery» was published in 1996. It contains the material which is the result of a long-lasting scholarly-research work on renewal of the forgotten stitches, in particular horodotskyi, kucheriavyi, kruchenyi, different types of hlad’ and others, and the process of carrying out the stitches is shown by means of sketches. The Ukrainian embroidery study method is not only based on fixation, cartographing of the embroidery as an art phenomenon, and also on the study of the fine needle-work process based on museum classical patterns and confirming them by old residents from various regions of Ukraine. The second edition of this book is enlarged, the technique drawings are perfected, new stitches are added, most of which are published for the first time. The explanation is given in accessible language and is recommended for teachers and students of Art Educational Institutions, pupils of secondary schools, researches of Ukrainian embroidery art and for everyone who is interested and fond of folk art.

Reading audience: The work on this subject is not comprehensive yet, and is expecting future researches.
