Summary: The monograph presents the holistic introduction of the current state of phytodiversity of water bodies and wetlands of the Southern Bug River valley. The classification scheme and the prodromus of syntaxons of higher aquatic and wetland vegetation are presented, which is belong to 78 associations from 18 alliances 12 orders and 7 classes. Diagnostic, constant and dominant species, coenotic characteristic, ecological conditions, distribution are given for each syntaxons. The leading factors of territorial and ecological differentiation of plant communities are identified and the peculiarities of their spatial distribution are clarified. The main directions and tendencies of vegetation successions are characterized, the prognosis of its changes due to the influence of the latest anthropogenic factors is developed. An autphytosozological and synphytosozological evaluation of plant communities of water bodies and wetlands has been carried out. The econet scheme of the valley has been drawn up and the evaluation of the effectiveness of its functioning has been held. Strategic directions of optimization of vegetation in modem conditions are offered.
