Summary: The monograph examines the materials on animal husbandry and hunting of the Slavs on the eve of the formation of Ancient Rus Volyn-Roman and Raikovetska culture sites, the last quarter of the first millennium BC. About 40 archeological complexes and tools characterizing both branches are analyzed. Significant similarities of animal husbandry, differences in the meaning of hunting have been established. The probable influences on animal husbandry from the neighbors are examined.
