which was published in 1887 at the printing house of the Shevchenko Society in Lviv. The publication was financed and prepared by the editors Natalia Kobrynska and Olena Pchilka, with the active support of Ivan Franko. Despite its long and controversial publishing history, the Almanac became a unique artistic, literary, national and cultural phenomenon \u2014 \u00abthe symbol of a new intellectual movement among Ukrainian women\u00bb (Ivan Franko). As an impor\u0002tant manifestation of the consolidation efforts of Ukrainian women on both sides of the imperial\u0002divided Ukraine, \u00abPershyi Vinok\u00bb has gone down in the history of the literary process, the Ukrai\u0002nian press, and the women\u2019s movement. Talented representatives of Galicia (Natalia Kobrynska, Ulyana Kravchenko (Yulia Schneider), Klymentyna Popovych, Kateryna Dovbenchuk (Pavlyk), Anna Pavlyk, Olesia Bazhanska, Mykhailyna Roshkevych, Olha Levytska, Olena Hrytsai, Sydora Navrotska), and Naddniprianshchyna (Hanna Barvinok (Oleksandra Kulish), Olena Pchilka, Lesia Ukrainka, Liudmyla Starytska, Olha Franko), and even Southern Ukraine (Dniprova Chaika) were united in the field of literature. Forty-nine original works of different genres (poetry, prose, scien\u0002tific and ethnographic studies) were presented in \u00abThe First Wreath\u00bb. In the proposed study the personality, the creative phenomenon of each of the seventeen authors of the Almanac is presented in depth and in its entirety. Their path to this publication and interesting biographical fragments are highlighted. The artistic works included in \u00abThe First Wreath\u00bb and their critical reception are con\u0002sidered. The role of \u00abThe First Wreath\u00bb in the individual writing biographies of each of its authors is examined in detail. Its role in the development of women\u2019s periodicals and women\u2019s writing is \r\nalso highlighted.
