Summary: The monograph summarizes the results of studies of the ozone layer dynamics under the influence of planetary waves conducted over the past 25 years. The descriptions concern the terrestrial and satellite ozonometric instruments and the results of comparison of the total ozone observations in Ukraine and Antarctica; characteristics of planetary waves and their impact on the ozone layer, in particular, on the zonal ozone asymmetry over Antarctica and its long-term changes; teleconnection between the tropical temperature anomalies and the Antarctic stratosphere; the method of seasonal forecasting of anomalous decrease in the ozone hole area in spring based on the indicators of winter preconditions and altitude dependence of the ozone response to the 11-year cycle of solar activity.

Reading audience: For scientists in atmospheric physics and astronomy, teachers, students, and postgraduate students.
