Summary: The monograph is the result of a scientific study of the Kyiv Commercial Institute library collection which is kept in the department of library and historical collections of the V.I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine, by identifying and studying provenances that testify the history of books. Finding out the location of the book collection became the impetus for studying the archival materials of the Kyiv Commercial Institute, which are stored in the State Archives of Kyiv. During the scientific research, new facts from the history of the institute and its library were determined. Due to the library collection safety of the first private higher educational institution in the city of Kyiv — the Kyiv Commercial Institute, the characteristic features of the book culture of the Kyiv intelligentsia of the beginning of the 20th century were revealed. The monograph proves the great importance of the Kyiv Commercial Institute library in the life of the higher educational institution and the historical keep of the Ukrainian book heritage.
